Dawn Moncrief, Executive Director, is available for speaking engagements. In addition to educating about the general benefits of plant-based diets, her work focuses on the detrimental effects of animal agriculture on world hunger, especially women in less-developed countries. Premises:

  1. Cycling plant-based foods through animals to produce meat and related animal-based products is inefficient, unsustainable, and detrimental to global hunger solutions.

  2. Demand for animal products is not "given" or "fixed." Demand is created by cultural institutions, politics, and business interests. Demand for animal products, can be altered through education campaigns and shifting priorities.

  3. Producing and consuming fewer animal products (especially those raised by intensive farming methods) is much-neglected but critical "part of the solution" for industrialized and developing countries. While this step is not a panacea, it will drastically improve key areas of concern for reducing global hunger: scarcity, population, prices, distribution, sustainability, pollution, and other related concerns.
